Let’s keep in mind how much it actually costs to produce this ethanol. Corn based ethanol makes use of a lot of pesticides, reduces the amount of corn available for human consumption, and uses singificant amounts of fuel to harvest and manufacture.
North America is not the most conducive area for ethanol production at the moment given the climate, and this won’t change unless their are improvements in technology (such as using the throw-away components like the husk) but I still don’t see this as a solution.
Let’s not create a new industry that doesn’t make any sense for an economics or environmental perspective!
