Brita’s Filter For Good Campaign

FilterForGood-Brita_1.jpg
At The Lazy Environmentalist we believe that if you want to motivate individuals to change their behavior you’d better make the environmental choices really appealing. Recently Brita approached me to become the spokesperson for its new Filter For Good campaign, and I quickly signed on because it makes doing the right thing easy, fun, and best of all, super conspicuous (yup, you get to carry your environmental cred with you everywhere you now go).

Visitors to FilterForGood.com can take the pledge to go without disposable water bottles to help reduce plastic waste and, thanks to a partnership with Nalgene, also purchase a FilterForGood reusable water bottle. The idea of course is that you can use a Brita water filter in combination with your reusable water bottle to get great tasting water without buying bottled water. Proceeds from the sale go to benefit Blue Planet Run, a super innovative organization that provides clean drinking water to the world’s most impoverished populations, so there’s lots of added value. I’m sensing that this bottle may soon become the Toyota Prius of reusable water bottles. Not only does it keep you hydrated and conserve resources, but it’s also sure to attract nods of environmental approval from attractive strangers riding on public transit. What better way to start a meaningful relationship? My reusable Filter For Good bottle is already on the way.
