TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th RADIO SHOW

Cool Mayors, Green Cities, and Strong Leadership

hdr_successes.gif

Today we are talking about strong leadership through local initiatives. Currently underway is the Sundance Summit, a ground-breaking conference hosted by Robert Redford in Sundance, Utah where over 40 mayors are discussing local action for citizens to work towards climate change. Our guests today are helping empower all of us in each of our cities to make change that counts.

Today's Featured Radio Guests:

Kim Lundgren - Regional Director for ICLEI USA International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives responsible for supporting over 60 local governments within the US on implementing climate change prevention policies and programs.

Dannel Malloy - Mayor of Stamford, CT who is one of 500 Cool Mayors leading 66 million US citizens to action on global warming.

Topics Discussed Today -

The Spa and Wellness Center - Founded by our friend Sheila Brody, this is the only green spa in Brooklyn tucked away in the lovely Bay Ridge.

Architecture 2030 - Founded in 2002 by architect Edward Mazria, 2030's goal is straightforward: to achieve a dramatic reduction in the global-warming-causing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of the Building Sector by changing the way buildings and developments are planned, designed and constructed.
