Furniture Style Magazine just published an interview I gave to Stephanie Mitchell, its Managing Editor. The magazine primarily targets members of the furniture industry, so it’s an opportunity to share some views about the philosophy behind Vivavi and how to catalyze positive environmental change. The furniture industry is gradually adopting better environmental practices. The Sustainable Furniture Council was formed last year to provide leadership and a roadmap for companies starting down the green path. Its inspiration came from folks like Gerry Cooklin who founded and runs Southcone, one of the best examples of a sustainable business in existence. Gerry is a true visionary when it comes to understanding what it takes to transform our economy and bring it into balance with nature. He also understands how to make positive environmental change happen now, not in some theoretical future, which is one of the traits I admire most about him.
