Ahh, the thrill of making your own home movies. Two infamous (leaked) homemade films that immediately come to mind are Paris Hilton's "One Night in Paris" and the David Hasselhoff 'drunkenly devouring a burger on the floor' segment. Whereas Paris and the 'Hoff made those films for free, the Home Depot wants to know what kind of video would you make in return for a chance at a $5,000 prize.
Through the Home Depot video contest “Save Money. Save Energy. Win Big.”, the most creative and ingenious energy saving techniques wins a $5,000 gift card. To enter the contest, just shoot a short video showing how you save energy and money in your home. Perhaps you take cold showers in a wetsuit to reduce hot water consumption. Or maybe upon arriving at your home, all of your guests are given large alpaca wool ponchos to wear to keep the heating bill down. Whatever (actually, not whatever, don't take my two tips because I'm actually working on a video right now).
To enter just send your ORIGINAL videos to www.homedepot.com/youtube between now and Nov. 9, 2008. Good luck!
